
Ross Coons, percussion
Coons holds a BA in Music/Percussion from the SUNY Collage at Buffalo and an MM in Percussion Performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, where he served as the Graduate Teaching Assistant. As a professional performer, he appears regularly with the Colorado Symphony as an extra/substitute player, is currently serving as the Timpanist for the Wyoming Symphony, and has played with numerous other regional orchestras and performing groups throughout the front range area. In addition, he has been a participant in the Aspen Music Festival, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and the Tusia Opera Festival Orchestra in Italy, as well as appearing as an extra with the National Reperatory Orchestra and the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra. As a teacher, Coons has worked with students of all ages and skill levels through private instruction, school master classes/workshops, section coaching, and percussion ensembles.
