Robin Olschner, bass

Bassist Robin Olschner grew up in the rich music milieu of Southern California, but has lived and worked in Denver since 1994. A graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles, Robin began her musical career playing in the Pasadena Symphony (under the direction of Daniel Lewis and Jorge Mester), the Los Angeles Opera (under the direction of Placido Domingo), and a multitude of regional orchestras and festivals, as well as doing studio film and commercial work for the Columbia, Warner Brothers, and Sony studios.

After moving to Denver, Robin became a regular substitute bassist with the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Ballet Orchestra, Up Close and Musical, Colorado Chamber Orchestra, Inside the Orchestra, and taught bass and piano in her private studio. As a freelancer, she has played at the Chintimini Chamber Music Festival in Corvallis, Oregon, and in orchestras in Colorado and California backing up such artists as Andrea Bocelli, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), and Earth Wind and Fire.

Along with her work in classical music, Robin has also had a lifelong interest in spiritual formation. From 2010 through 2022, she worked with children and adults at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arvada as the Director of Spiritual Formation. In a delightful weaving of her two worlds (music and spiritual formation), Robin has also administered the Second Tuesdays Concert Series in Arvada since 2010.

Robin has been married to Tom for 40 years, and they love spending time with their three sons, their daughters-in-law, and their four grandchildren.
