Joseph Howe, cello

Joseph Howe is an avid chamber musician. He regularly performs with Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival in Northern California and Boulder Chamber Orchestra’s chamber music series, and recently appeared on Denver Friends of Chamber Music’s Music in the Galleries series. He is a member of Sphere Ensemble, a 13-piece chamber ensemble that performs music of all genres. He enjoys performing with his fiance, pianist Madoka Asari, and plays house concerts and outreach concerts in Colorado, as well as up and down the west coast.

Joseph is deeply interested in historically inspired performance. He performs regularly with American Bach Soloists in the Bay Area and Boulder Bach Festival. Other recent performances include Oregon Bach Festival and Seicento Baroque Ensemble. He has been a Fellowship Artist with Boulder Bach Festival, and studied in programs through Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, and Oregon Bach Festival.

As an orchestral musician, Joseph is associate principal cellist of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and principal cellist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, with whom he recently appeared as concerto soloist. He is also a member of Boulder Philharmonic, and has performed recently with Colorado Symphony, Opera Colorado, and New World Symphony. Joseph Studied at University of Colorado Boulder and University of Oregon, and his teachers include Judith Glyde, Steven Pologe, Amos Yang, and Guy Fishman.
