
Tamara Goldstein
Pianist Tamara Goldstein enjoys a career as a chamber musician, teacher and recitalist. From a musical family, she earned solo performance degrees at Indiana University (BM),The Juilliard School (MM), and the University of Colorado (DMA). She spends summers on the collaborative piano staff of the Aspen Music Festival and School (since 1999) and teaches piano/chamber music on the faculty of the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. Current piano faculty posts also include Rocky Ridge Music Center’s adult piano seminar, the Grand Teton Music Festival’s competition pianist, and Very Young Composers, an outreach program of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. She has traveled with recital partners for performance and teaching engagements on five continents. She is in demand as an educator and competition adjudicator, collaborative partner and chamber music performer, and has served as a presenter and performer at numerous international conferences.
Goldstein has been a compelling concerto soloist with many local orchestras in Colorado over the years, and also served as pianist with Central City Opera, the Colorado Symphony & Chorus, the Colorado Chamber Players (1995-2005), and on concert series throughout the region. She has mentored students to enjoy success in international competitions, as concerto soloists, in graduate studies and as university faculty. Tamara performs regularly with orchestral musicians and university faculty and has been a guest-teaching artist and mentor for universities, secondary schools as well as for private studios. Tamara was Associate Professor and Chair of Keyboard Studies as well as Founder/Artistic Director of an annual interdisciplinary symposium called Piano Celebration, at Metro State University of Denver from 2002-2015. Shea has served on several state boards, including as President of Colorado Federation of Music Clubs and the Colorado State Music Teachers Association.
