Lydia Hynson

Cellist Lydia Hynson, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She participated in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra and youth chamber ensembles until she graduated high school. She attended Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Cello Performance. She received her master's degree in Cello Performance at Colorado State University, was the cellist in the CSU Zinnia String Quartet, and also received a Certificate in String Pedagogy. Hynson also performs in the annual Colorado Mahlerfest and Opera Steamboat and held a position as the Co-Principal for the Longmont Symphony. While performing and teaching are her main passions, Hynson also serves as the Secretary for the Fort Collins String Teachers Association, the E-Communications Specialist for the Front Range Chamber Players, and the Managing Director for the Fort Collins All-City High School Honor Orchestra. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as fly-fishing, hiking, camping, and working in her garden, and attending live music concerts.
